Ponch was the very first Chihuahua Patti ever had.  She went to the Phoenix SPCA looking for a small, hairy girl dog, but when she saw Ponch, his big eyes wide with fear, she couldn't leave him there.  He was so sweet and playful, bringing a toy back every time she threw it for him.  He had lots of energy and would get whichever toy Patti asked him to, and he became like a little brother to Christy, Patti's four-year-old daughter.  When her Air Force career moved them to Sumter, SC, Patti found a Chihuahua puppy in a pet store and fell in love.  Little Tiffani Ann was quiet, snuggly, and rarely played with toys.  Her fun was chasing after Ponch when he chased his toys, or popping out from behind a chair to bark at him.  By the time John entered the picture, the dogs were becoming elderly, although Ponch was still very active.  He soon grew to love them, but when it came time to move to Greenville, SC, they felt Ponch would be happier living on several acres with a friend instead of cooped up in an apartment.  Tiffi moved with them and soon became queen of her domain.  Once she couldn't hear or get on the furniture anymore, she taught them her sign language, and always got what she wanted.  They were both wonderful companions with very unique personalities, and we remember them with great fondness and lots of smiles.
